Largest Loser Tops 1000
Since starting the Largest Loser in Summer 2009, the 47 challengers who have participated thus far have lost over 1000 pounds. The Summer group posted 237# but was blown out of the water by Fall 09 who came in with 461# but may be dethroned by the current group who is already down 325# with 5 weeks to go.
…….PARDON THE INTERRUPTION: A message from your Dietitian
I wanted to take this opportunity to interject with a sincere congratulations followed by a somewhat impolite “I don’t care.” Bear with me a moment—I have worked closely with all 47 contestants in our program and have a very high level of respect for what each and every one of them has accomplished. And that’s my point! This isn’t about a program, it’s about the people! I don’t care that we hit 1000 and I won’t care when we hit 10,000. Below is a just a short list of what I do care about:
Mary Anne is the busiest person I’ve ever met, but she’s committing 100% to her health
Kathy is 46# lighter than she was in September and is now running on the treadmill
Phil is getting rock solid as his BF% approaches 20%
Tricia… Look at her ½ way pic… enough said
I saw Erin RUN between exercises this week for no apparent reason
Peggy has gone from no exercise ever to regularly exercising daily
John has lost 33 pounds already?
Christine has mastered the art of working her butt of but still able to maintain a smile
Carol refuses to let adversity stand in the way of progress
Dianne is about to hit the 25# mark en route to an impressive journey
Not even an injury can keep Francesca out of the gym
Ted has lost 3” around the waist and is about to break 300
Becky hits the gym for 700 calories—every day
Stephanie’s somehow manages to stay out of the spotlight despite her stunning progress
Mary does squats on the bosu ball now
Wendy dropped over 3” around the waist
Roy’s heart is more efficient than it was 15 years ago
Dr. Gruss is down over 50# since he’s started
Henry’s body fat % has dropped over 8%
Suzanne’s off her blood pressure medication and isn’t looking back
Spectacular job to everyone thus far. You should be happy with the progress you’ve made in 7 weeks, but don’t for 1 second get content with that progress! We have 5 more weeks left and now is the time to lay the hammer down. Use this week to continue working hard but also to formulate a plan on what you’re going to do to sprint to the finish in the last 4 weeks. And remember—I’m on call just about 24/7 to assist you in whatever way possible.
Let’s Keep Going!
