Congrats to all 11 finishers of our first Largest Loser Challenge!
Special congratulations to our 1st and 2nd Place Winners who were also Mother and Daughter:
Cathy and Theresa

BEFORE AND AFTER.....

Start_Theresa_72DPI_1.jpg Theresa
A young special education teacher who remembers just a few years ago when she had a regular exercise routine and was active in cheerleading and dance. In the past few years, though, her weight has crept up on her and exercise has fallen to the wayside. Going out with friends is going to be a temptation to indulge in junk food and pizza, but don’t let that fool you. She warns,

“once I’m motivated to work hard and win, there’s no stopping me.”

Cathy

A mother of three who used to walk several miles a day at work then received a promotion a few years back which gave her a comfy office chair. The problem?  Confined to a sedentary job she slowly packed on the pounds… until now. While summer party season is going to make things difficult at times she feels confident in her chances to win the competition because..
“I simply have to do it.”

A 25-year employee of a suburban defense contractor, mother, and loving wife, feels this program was essential because “I have a hard time staying consistent with exercise, so this program will keep me focused on my goal.” She admits that her temptations will be sweets and desserts but she notes that summer is a perfect time for this and thinks that the good weather and long days will be keys to her success.Maureen_After_1.jpg

Janet
She has run marathons and used to work out six days per week, but in the last few years she has lost motivation and work has become sedentary for her as well. However, she’s excited at this opportunity to kick it up a notch and try to get back to her former self. She has decided it’s time to put her health first and start taking care of and believing in herself.

As an owner of her own consulting firm she loves what she does but spends way too much time doing it. Despite her self-driven discipline towards her career, her exercise regimen has been an on-again, off-again affair for years. However, she states, “From the first time I heard about this program I have been more excited and motivated than I have been about anything in a long time!”

Kristen
A 27-year old Human Resource Manager who loves fattening foods and hates exercise. On the flip side, her desire to get healthy far “outweighs” her distaste for exercise. She is extremely motivated to hit her goal weight before her cruise this fall and would eventually like to run a 5K race.

Dianne

Another teacher and the proud owner of a lab mix named Casper (who will stand as a constant reminder not to forget her cardio). One of her goals during the program will be to improve her overall health while finding alternatives to emotional eating. She enjoys working hard and sweating in the gym, which will make her a force to be reckoned with for the Largest Loser title.

Start_Paul_72DPI_1.jpgPaul
A chiropractor and self-proclaimed “wonderful husband” to his charming wife Tweedie, he was never athletic as a kid and didn’t work out until he was 32 years young. His motivation for participating is that he feels that he’s too heavy for a 61-year old and needs someone to push him to the next level of fitness and health. He says controlling his eating will be the biggest obstacle to overcome, but he’s driven to set the bar high in this competition.

She has worked in hospitals, a psych ward, and food service and most recently in the teleconferencing industry.  Her goal is to lose weight so she can be more active and improve her overall health.  A big challenge will be time, as well as developing confidence in her capacity for exercise.  She’ll do well because she can stick to anything she puts her mind to as long as she has a good support staff.

As a trial lawyer for over 30 years, he starts the program at the highest weight of his life.  It's been quite some time since his days as a high school athlete, but he has a strong support staff in his wife, 2 kids, and 3 grand kids.  He notes that he has a lot of weight to lose, but so much more to gain:  quality of life, good health, and motivating his son Jason to do well in the program as well.  He'll have to battle a tough schedule and commuting from the city, but he brings a positive attitude and a ton of motivation with him.Henry_After_1.jpg
