Now that you have all made big changes in WHAT you are eating, now it's time to focus on WHEN you are eating.  Our discussion this week aimed at taking advantage of times when your body is more metabolically active (post workout) and coined the phrase "Feed your muscles, starve your fat!"  Please comment below on how you're incorporating these principles.

Good topic, learning more the second time around. I'm sorry but I like my Paleomeal shakes better. 1 Scoop paleomeal chocolate, 8 ounces water, 1 banana, one container yogurt light and a lot of ice. Try it great post workout replenishment.

Also wanted to add that nutrient timing is an important concept at all levels. Whether we are talking about weight loss, general health, or even high performance athletes--timing is just as important as quality and quantity.

The shakes sound like a great idea, however, getting all the ingredients, making it and then cleaning up seems like a lot work. Does anyone know of good ready made substitute?

The shake I like is called Spiru-tein. It is a high protein energy meal. It comes in a few different flavors. My favorite is chocolate. You mix it with 8 oz of skim milk for a total calorie count of 182. It has 0 fat and 22 grams of protein. It has 22 carbs. I have a mixer by TRIBEST which I ordered on-line. It takes me a total of 2 minutes to make.

That's why shakes are great. Not only did she get 22g protein for only 182 calories, she did it in 2 minutes. Specificity AND convenience!

Glucerna makes shakes which are ready made and easy to access. I drink the "snack shake" rather then the regular one because it saves me about 80 calories and makes me feel full. I drink it at about 12:30 p.m. since I eat lunch at 10:30. I can also drink it in front of my students without feeling guilty that I am having something when they aren't allowed to eat in class. You pop open the can and drink. You don't have to be a diabetic to drink Glucerna. (talk to tom) Technically, I fall more into the prediabetic range but it keeps my sugar spikes under control and I am not as ravenous as i normally was at the end of the school day as i was Pre Glucerna.

Depression medicine is very dageornus and does not help the problem, it can make people much worse and when they try to get off it some people go a bit nuts, a read an article about it recently that was quite alarming.a pill cannot get rid of depression, not really and not for good. the problem is in your mind, your thinking, psychology, you need therapy of some sort.depression has no quick fix, you have to sort out why your depressed and deal with it, learn new ways to think, sort out your mind and life that the depression is coming from.
